AFAIK, this is available on
- updatable RSS with
- STOP=5FAPPLY on (and LOG=5FSTAGING=5FDIR pointing to a secure directory)
- DBSPACETEMP (onconfig) needs to point to a real temp space

I was just re-reading the email chain below, and I wanted to get=20
clarification=20
on something.=20

I saw Paul, below, say that you can run a dbexport from a secondary server =

without breaking replication? Is this true. It would save me a lot of=20
problems.=20

You can download myexport from the IIUG Software Repository (=20
www.iiug.org/software<http://www.iiug.org/software>). It is a set of=20
scripts=20
(there is one executable C=20

utility in the package that is only needed if you want to use the parallel =

load/unload options). You will also need my utils2=5Fak package. The latest=
=20
version of that can be downloaded from my web site (=20
www.askdbmgt.com/my-utilities.html<

there is a build instruction document=20

My Utilities - ASK Database=20
Management<http://www.askdbmgt.com/my-utilities.html>=20
www.askdbmgt.com=20
Utils2=5Fak is my primary package of utilities. This is the July 28, 2016=20
release. Included: dbping.ec - Tests connections and reports connection=20
time=20
as well as ...=20

included, but it builds just by unpacking the shell archive and running=20
make on linux (and usually Solaris as well). If you use external table=20
exports and imports (the -E option) that's all you need.=20

To use the default export/import, which is the slowest option, you'll also =

need Jonathan Leffler's sqlcmd package the latest of which is in the IIUG=20
Repository as well.=20

To use the HP Loader options you'll need the myonpload utility from the=20
IIUG Repository.=20

Note that the external table option is the fastest unload/load so you can=20
ignore the HP Loader options.=20

Dbcopy is included in the utils2=5Fak package, so you'll be good once you=20
built that. Note that due to a looong standing bug in the ESQL/C libraries =

you can't use dbcopy on tables with LVARCHAR columns and it doesn't work=20
correctly on tables with more than one dumb blob type column. For those=20
cases you can use the dbmove utility (also in the package).=20

If you have any trouble building or using these, let me know.=20
