About the Software Repository. These pages allow you to access the IIUG Software Repository and other Informix-related archives on the Net. Quick Links:

utility in the package that is only needed if you want to use the parallel
load/unload options). You will also need my utils2_ak package. The latest
version of that can be downloaded from my web site (
www.askdbmgt.com/my-utilities.html<http://www.askdbmgt.com/my-utilities.html>) there is a build instruction document
included, but it builds just by unpacking the shell archive and running
make on linux (and usually Solaris as well). If you use external table
exports and imports (the -E option) that's all you need.

To use the default export/import, which is the slowest option, you'll also
need Jonathan Leffler's sqlcmd package the latest of which is in the IIUG
Repository as well.

To use the HP Loader options you'll need the myonpload utility from the
IIUG Repository.

Note that the external table option is the fastest unload/load so you can
ignore the HP Loader options.

Dbcopy is included in the utils2_ak package, so you'll be good once you
built that. Note that due to a looong standing bug in the ESQL/C libraries
you can't use dbcopy on tables with LVARCHAR columns and it doesn't work
correctly on tables with more than one dumb blob type column. For those
cases you can use the dbmove utility (also in the package).
