Yes. In the environment files for the 9.21 startup and any 9.21 shared memory
clients set LD_LIBRARY_PATH to point to
$INFORMIXDIR/lib:$INFORMIXDIR/lib/esql:$INFORMIXDIR/lib/tools
before /usr/lib so that the older libs are always picked up first. You can do
the same while your setting up the scripts for the 9.30 instances and clients so
next upgrade (perhaps to 9.40 next year?) will be all set. We don't access
Informix libraries out of /usr/lib at all only from $INFORMIXDIR/lib/* just
because the upgrades are painless that way.
