In Response To: RE: Engine offline without log error (NormaJean.Sebastian@tellabs.com)

Do you see Windows Event Viewer as you know IDS has service to write log
file both on online.log and Windows event log.

Direk P.

1) it's windows
2) it's windows
3) it's windows... one of our windows 2000 servers with service pack 4
was rebooted last week automatically by our server team to apply yet
another microsoft virus patch. we have SAP and oracle running on this
server. Neither one came up automatically after the patch. We got
oracle up, but SAP would not come up. We thought it was a DLL change
related to the virus patch. Turned out our server team changed some
login permissions for the admin accounts for SAP while they were
implementing active directory some time ago. The server had not been
booted since then... so the virus boot activated the active directory
stuff, and hosed up the ability to start the app.

Your database engine could be the problem, but maybe not. don't rule
out microsoft "fixes".

Hi, I will be appreciated if someone help me.
IDS turn offline without write any event in message log, nor generated
an af
file after dump, nor any entry in event viewer.
The alarmprogram script didn't execute and sysalarmprogram was comment
in
onconfig file.
The only way to continue is to restart the services. When I turn it
online it
start without problems.

The server is running only informix.

I attached the onconfig file.
SO: Win2000 server, service pack 4
IDS 9.21
RAM: 1Gb
2 Processors

Where I can find something about what happened?
Any help or guides will be more than appreciate.

Paola

Hola a todos. Nuevamente se cayó el motor, pero esta ves se puso
offline.
Imposible sacar el onstat -a y además no generó archivos af. ¿donde
puedo mirar

Paola
