it might depend on what version of SAPDBA you have...

sapdba
b) dbspaces
f) rename chunk paths

we are informix 7.31.FC6x2 on solaris 2.7
SAPDBA V6.10a - SAP Database Administration for Informix

the 'rename chunk paths' is a normal step in our process of copying PRD
to any QA server (DB & SAP SID rename).
