Amazing when it's the silly things. Yes, rpm was not
installed on this box. That was what was holding it
up. Sadly, Informix can't be installed on this box
anyway. The box was set up with Debian Linux which
apparently won't let you (the installer in this case)
run rpm directly. It prompts with an error message
that 'alien' must be used instead.

True, Informix is not certified to run on Debian
Linux, but we were hoping to just put it there to try
and get some testing done. We'll be making a Red Hat
test box soon. Thanks again for everyone's help on
this.
