The maintenance for Informix 9.30 versions ends on April 30th, 2005.

Reason and Prerequisites
Your SAP application is running with Informix Version 9.30.

Solution
The 'End of Service' (EOS) support level for Informix Version 9.30
will
come into effect at IBM as of May 2005.
This End of Service specifically means:

o There will be no more enhancement and maintenance releases.

o No new operating system versions will be supported.

o IDS Version 9.40 will be required for time-consuming
troubleshooting and performance analyses. In particular,
corrections that require changes to be implemented in the IDS
9.30 database source code will still only be made available
based
on IDS 9.40.

For over a year now, Informix Version 9.40 has been certified and
released for all SAP products that are also released for IDS 9.30. As
a
result, IDS Version 9.40 is a reliable, alternative Informix version
to
IDS 9.30.
The Basis version currently recommended is 9.40.xC5. You can download
the current patch version (for example, 9.40.xC5X3) from the SAP
Service
Marketplace. When you change from IDS 9.30 to IDS 9.40, at least
9.40.xC5X3 should be used in the SAP environment.

We therefore urgently advise all customers who are still using
Informix
Version 9.30 to upgrade to the current 9.40 database version.

Version 9.40 is available for all platforms that have a corresponding
9.30 version.
Details about the availability of IDS Version 9.40 for the different
SAP
components are available on the SAP Service Marketplace
(http://service.sap.com) in the Product Availability Matrix (PAM).
