Hi,

as far as I know, there's no special code dealing with "logical" CPUs,
meaning that we do not differenciate between logical CPUs and
physical CPUs. For the IDS server the partitioning into logical CPUs
is transparent.

So with an otherwise normal configuration of IDS, you should be fine
with 8 NUMCPUVPs, or maybe 7 NUMCPUVPs to leave one free
for the other processes (other than CPUVPs) that are also part of
a running server instance.

I'm not sure however, what the effects would be of using configurations=

like AFFINITY and/or NOAGE. They might simply be ignored by the
OS for logical CPUs, but I don't know. If they are not ignored, then
I imagine that they could have an adverse effect. But I never
tried/tested any of these within a "logical CPU" environment.

Regards,
Martin
