In Response To: RE: after upgrading to 12.1 log back script no.... (John Adamski (Work Account))

Thanks to Petr he got it working it seems my onpsm command when I setup the LOGPOOL must have been wrong or something as the pool was READ-ONLY (no idea why I didn't see that).

Did a onpsm -D update /opt/informix/backups/infx/logs -g LOGPOOL -p HIGHEST and poof it started working.

onpsm -D list
Password for adamski:

Informix Primary Storage Manager Device List

Type Prio Block/Size (MB) Pool Name Device Name
FILE HIGHEST --/-- DBSPOOL /opt/informix/backups/infx/spaces
FILE HIGHEST --/-- LOGPOOL /opt/informix/backups/infx/logs

Original command used:

onpsm -D add /opt/informix/backups/infx/logs -g LOGPOOL -p HIGHEST -t FILE seems this should have worked.

Well thanks all for the help.

John

I blaming lack of sleep, as I still don't have something right.

I hardcoded BAR_BSALIB_PATH and PSM_CATALOG_PATH to the default locations. I removed the default device entry in onpsm and added new ones for DBSPOOL and LOGPOOL after make sure the directories where there. I then bounced the engine to make sure I came up with all the onconf parameters as I just changed them to be. Did a onbar -b -l to try and do the logs and get the same error. :-( I'm sure the mistake is sticking it's tongue out at me and saying nahnahnahhh at me.

All you need to do is to either create the path that PSM_LOG_POOL points to or change where it points.
