As Fernando points out, the LID defines that ClientSDK is a supporting
component product of the engine:

Hopefully the following IBM Announcement should also clarify the recent
confusion over whether ClientSDK requires separate S&S cover or whether it
is covered by the engine S&S:

Overview:

Informix Client SDK is a supporting program for Informix database servers in
the following Informix editions: Informix Advanced Enterprise Edition,
Informix Enterprise Edition, Informix Advanced Developer Edition, Informix
Workgroup Edition, Informix Advanced Workgroup Edition, and Informix
Express® Edition. Customers with these Informix servers under a support
contract are entitled to obtain support for Client SDK as part of their
server support when Informix Client SDK is used to access the Informix
server.

A previous announcement that removed Client SDK as a supporting program from
some server versions, Software Announcement ZP11-0567, dated December 13,
2011, is decommitted.

You are entitled to obtain support for Client SDK at or above the version
specified in your server license when Informix Client SDK is used to access
the Informix server.

The Client SDK product will continue to be available as part of the Hosting
products. The code was never pulled from the DVDs that make up the Informix
product orderables.

I know I'm replying to a month-old+ thread here but, no, you aren't the
only one confused, Mark.

I'm dealing with this right now at Hyatt. We're consolidating CSDK to a
fewer number of machines because of what IBM has told us regarding
licensing and potential out-of-compliance scenarios. Even when I was at
IBM, I was getting conflicting information from people I considered to be
authorities on the subject.
