The number on the nettype entry is used to size the IPC message buffer shared memory segment. The message buffer shm is basically nothing but= an array of message buffers. With TCP connections, there is no such array= and thus the TCP interface can handle more connections.

Thanks! Here is what I am really curious about : with the following setting "soctcp,,500,NET". I am noticed over 2000 concurrent connections. Why ?

Hi, If poll thread is not specified, it defaults to 1. Is soctcp,,500,NET (which is really soctcp,1,500,NET) better than soctcp,4,500,NET ?
It depends very much on the number of concurrent connections you expect= . For a highly used system, if there are sufficient hardware resources, y= ou are likely to benefit from 4 poll threads vs 1.

  Hi forum,
Looking for high level thought on these two configurations for Nettype.=

Using soctcp,,500,NET (without # of poll threads) for nettype value in onconf= ig. If left blank does it take a default value. vs. soctcp,4,500,NET (with # of poll threads) for nettype value in onconfig= .
Which configuration is the best if any.
Thanks in advance for your expert advice!
  Josue'
