AW: migrating ids 10.00.UC10 to 11.50.FC6 (64-bit)

Hello,

you can do a testrun of the distributed query migration scenario (without stopping production):
Install and configure the new server, create tables (raw, without indices/constraints). You can do that easily from dbschema outputs.

Copy table data an measure runtimes (in parallel, large tables with own processes). Create indices/constraints with PDQ afterwards.
Runtime will probably depend on the performance of the old server.

Watch out for single large tables - they might determine the total runtime!
Check, if you can migrate parts of the data in advance (or later on) - historical data etc.) ?

Give it a try. If you can't meet your downtime requirements , you can use that at least as a test for performance and quality of the new hardware/configuration/layout.

Regards
Andreas
