I'll say it again, IDS and Sun T-class (Niagra processors) machines do not
go well together. You CANNOT configure IDS to use all of the hardware
threads on any one core. IDS should at most use the first thread on each
core and preferably the hardware threads should be disabled on any machine
on which IDS is running!

So, if what you actually have is 8 cores with three hardware threads each,
you should pin the CPU VPs to processor numbers 0, 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, & 21
using the aff options to the VPCLASS parameter in the ONCONFIG file.
