Creating Linked database connections to Informix 9 from SQL

We are currently in the process of migrating to Informix version 9. At the
moment we are doing a number of tests around our bespoke applications. One
of these involves transferring a large amount of data from our Informix 9
server through a SQL Server linked database ODBC connection. We have
installed Informix CSDK 2.7 on our SQL-Server environment (NT4 SP6,
S/Server7 SP3) and now we are experiencing a couple of problems

1. From a PC workstation, if we connect to the database we can find no way
to turn off ANSI padding. Is this feasible?

2. From a SQL-Server server, we cannot get it to connect properly. We create
a linked database and although we can see the table list, no SQL will run
against it. The error returned at the SQL Server end is

"Server: Msg 7370, Level 16, State 2, Line 1
One or more properties could not be set on the query for OLE DB provider
'MSDASQL'. The provider could not support a required property.
[OLE/DB provider returned message: Multiple-step OLE DB operation generated
errors. Check each OLE DB status value, if available. No work was done.]"

The only reference I can find to this error is that regcopy has not been
run, but it has and the log reports success.


I cannot believe that I am the first person to try this and wondered if
anyone had any advice to offer.
