Hi Sheshnarayan,

Thanks for posting the link to the Informix Client SDK software.

HOWEVER, I just wanted to add that anyone who is not intimately familiar
with the convoluted IBM web site for Informix products, especially
for downloads of them, had better prepare themselves for a couple of
hours of frustration and meandering through the site trying to
find the software.

I have been using Informix and the CSDK bundle for years so I am
fairly used to this weird process of getting a CSDK port, but
for the beginner let me outline it:

- go to the site whose link is below
- then you will find a small link on the lower right of the page
for Informix CSDK downloads, but the downloads are under the
heading of "Trials and Demos"??? As long as I can remember IBM
has been labeling this client software under some misleading
category making you think that it is a purchased product but it
has actually been free. In fact, there is even a link on this
page to ordering and sales information for it.

- when you click on the CSDK Downloads link, you will get to a page
"Trials And Demos", for all IBM and Informix downloads, where:

-- the Search Engine to locate CSDK does not work

-- when you click on the Products Tab, CSDK is not listed

-- you have to click on a link on the right called "More Featured Trials"

-- on that page, CSDK will not be shown so you have to click the

link at the bottom "View All Evaluation Software"

-- on the next page you will need to use the Search box and enter

"Informix Client SDK"

-- that will bring up all of the ports of it (I think)

-- then when you select the port you need by clicking on the description

(my HPUX PA-RISC 64-bit port is listed as for the Sun Operating
System!)

-- up comes a page with the huge heading "Trial Download" (again

referring to the HPUX port I selected as being for Sun O.S.)

-- then you click the Continue link and GUESS WHAT?

-- that takes you to a page to login to Passport Advantage

-- So, unless you are a IBM Passport Advantage Customer, you can't get
the

download and you are out of luck

-- If you are a PA Customer, the next page brings up a ridiculous survey

which you must answer to get the download. None of the questions
were

of a topic relevant to us and I just had to answer the questions

with anything in order to get the download.

-- when I viewed the License Agreement, it said that it was for temporary
evaluation

for 90 days

In short, I feel that the product information and downloading steps
for Informix CSDK are very obfuscated and confusing.

If anyone from IBM reads this and wants to correct me or clarify
something regarding what I have said, I would appreciate it.
