Technical Features

Dear IIUG Member:

June 12, 2007, IBM Informix Dynamic Server has officially been announced with all its features. The actual product will be available in July 2007 for General Availability and the special IIUG Educational version for all IIUG members should be available no later than Aug 1, 2007.

As president of the IIUG, I wish to thank all the wonderful people of IBM, especially the General Manager of IBM Information Management, Ambuj Goyal, and Arvind Krishna, Jerry Keesee, Bernie Spang, Bruce Weed, Cindy Fung, Cathy Elliot, Gary Proctor, Christy Maver, Carlton Doe, Scott Pickett, Jonathan Leffler, Kevin Brown, John Miller III, Madison Pruet, Jacques Roy, Alexander Komer and many other IBMers who have had their hands in the release of this product and have travelled the world to introduce it to the Informix Community over the past few months.

But most of all "THANK YOU" to each and every Informix developer. There are hundreds of developers on this fine product in Lenexa, Kansas, Menlo Park, CA and all over the world. Without each and every one of you, users of Informix might have to work for a living. It is you who give us such a great product. I love the quote by one IIUG Board member, "I get to be in normal time. I go home at 3pm each day and I don't even have a beeper or cell phone because I run Informix." It is the developers of this fine product who allow each of us Informix users, and ONLY Informix users, to know how easy we have it, because the product just runs and runs, and does so faster and more efficiently than any other database product on the market. To each of the developers, a heart-felt THANK YOU on behalf of each Informix user and allowing each of us to have a very easy job supporting Informix at out companies.

Run Cheetah Run!

Stuart Litel
President
IIUG
