The IIUG board met for two long days in Vancouver Canada. We started planning the 2014 IIUG conference. We are considering a few locations and will inform you when we select the winner. All I can say for now is that we are going east. Farewell San Diego. We had two great years but we felt we need a change. We are also in the process of renewing our website. I'm sure you will like it. I hope for good news about Informix as well. So stay tuned. Gary Ben-Israel
A special thank you to all who responded to my email and that did the survey for the IBM Informix Doc team. The survey is now over and the team was overwhelmed with results and asked me to thank each and every one of the almost 500 people who responded in about 72 hours! Also as Gary mentioned "Goodbye San Diego". Although the people of the San Diego Mission Valley Marriott were outstanding, it has come time to make a change. By this time next month we hope to have an answer as to where the 2014 IIUG Conference will be held. If all goes according to plan it will be an East Coast USA City the week of April 27 or May 4, 2014. Stay Tuned for more details once the final contract is determined and the contract has been signed. Stuart Litel

Backups taken with Informix ON-Bar are recorded in a separate database called sysutils. This article explains how to create a plug-in for the Informix OpenAdminTool (OAT) to query and display a list of backups and restores along with additional information such as the date when a backup was verified. This information can be very helpful for administrators who are keeping an overview about the backup history.
