IBM Informix Conference Survey: Past and Future -- We Need Your Feedback!
The 2001 IBM Informix Conference (IIC) was held in Las Vegas, Nevada,
USA last October, and the IIUG played a key role in IIC content advice,
special events, and conference promotion. Now, we need your feedback so
that we can effectively influence IBM Informix conferences in 2002.
Even if you did not attend the Las Vegas event, we still want to hear
from you! We want to know what kept you from attending and what can be
done to put together a conference that you would want to attend this year.
The next Informix Conference will be held in Anaheim, California, USA,
during the week of September 9, 2002, as part of the IBM Data Management
Technical Conference. It will include both Informix and DB2 content.
Watch www.iiug.org for more information.
Please take a few minutes to fill out the Conferences Survey
by clicking here
Your feedback and input are invaluable!!!

IBM Shares Climbed 42% in 2001
According to a recent Reuters note, IBM was only second to Microsoft as
the top performing stock for 2001 in the Dow Jones industrial average.
The story can be found at:
http://dailynews.yahoo.com/h/nm/20011231/bs/markets_stocks_djia_dc_2.html
IBM shares ended 2001 just over $120, having kicked off the year in the
mid $80s. For an illustration of IBM's daily stock performance for 2001,
please go to:
http://www.ibm.com/investor/stock/stockchart.html
Meanwhile, the Redwood City competitor's stock took a dive during the
same period, from just over $25/share to under $15. Ouch! A lovely chart
illustrating this stellar performance may be found at:

IDS Version 7.31UD3 Available -- UD4 Soon to Ship
Despite a quality hold on version 7.31UD2 due to problems on some
Solaris platforms, the IIUG was informed recently that 7.31 UD3 is
currently available and that UD4 is slated for release on 11 platforms in
February.
For certain large systems UD4 will include an additional optimization for
update statistics and large queries that sort a lot.
Software Repository Updated
Developers should visit the software repository to view recent changes
and additions to the highly useful collection there.
The latest and greatest....
IIUG Software Repository Administrator Walt Hultgren has added a new
index to make it easier to find just the right tool for the job
while prolific contributor Jonathan Leffler has created a stored
procedure that calculates several ISO 8601 date values.
